Email marketing in Glasgow

I work with Glasgow shops and ecommerce brands remotely and monthly, inside your own email platform. This page covers what is different about a Scottish list, including bank holidays that do not match England’s.

Everything runs remotely, by email and the occasional video call. There is no Glasgow office and I do not hold in-person meetings.

Working with a freelance email marketer in Glasgow

Glasgow has a big independent scene across fashion, music, food and design, and plenty of Scottish brands selling well beyond Scotland. The email needs are the same as anywhere else. The calendar just needs setting up properly.

A freelancer on a monthly plan writes and sends the campaigns, looks after the automations your plan covers, and plans the sending around the dates your list actually keeps.

What is different about a Glasgow ecommerce list

Three things, in practice.

Scottish bank holidays are different

2 January, the first Monday in August and St Andrew’s Day on 30 November are Scottish bank holidays, and Easter Monday is not. If your list is split between Scotland and elsewhere, a send timed for an English bank holiday can land on an ordinary working day.

Hogmanay is a trading moment

For food, drink, gifting and partywear, the days between Christmas and New Year matter more in Scotland than in most of the UK. Plan a send for it rather than going quiet after Boxing Day.

Scottish brands sell beyond Scotland

Many Glasgow brands have a large share of buyers elsewhere in the UK and abroad. Segment by location so Scottish-specific content goes where it lands, while gifting and delivery dates go to everyone.

Burns Night on 25 January gives food, drink and gift brands a reason to email in an otherwise quiet month. St Andrew’s Day sits right next to Black Friday, so decide early which one you are using.

Christmas cut-offs matter more for Highlands and Islands delivery, where couriers often need earlier dates. Say so in the email, and send it before the mainland deadline.

None of that needs a bespoke strategy. It needs a calendar agreed in advance, so nothing is written in a panic.

How the monthly work runs, wherever you are

The arrangement is the same for a Glasgow brand as for one anywhere else. Everything runs remotely, by email and the occasional video call. There is no Glasgow office and I do not hold in-person meetings, which is part of why the price is what it is.

I work inside your existing email platform. Campaigns get written and sent, the flows your plan covers get built and looked after, list health gets checked, and you get one page of numbers every 30 days. The pricing page has the numbers, and getting started sets out the first month week by week.

What the first ninety days looks like

Month one: fix and build

Deliverability and list hygiene first, then the first flows your plan covers, usually welcome and abandoned cart. Nothing new gets sent into a broken account.

Month two: rhythm

Campaigns on an agreed calendar, drafted a fortnight ahead, in a template built for a phone. Further flows go in behind them if your plan includes them.

Month three: segment and refine

By now there is enough data to split the list properly and improve individual emails on their own numbers rather than guesses. The services page covers the ongoing shape of it.

Glasgow email marketing FAQs

Do you meet clients in Glasgow?

No. Everything runs remotely, by email and, when it helps, a video call. You are never waiting for a meeting to get an answer.

Can you plan around Scottish bank holidays?

Yes. The sending calendar is set against your actual market, so Scottish dates are used wherever most of your list is in Scotland.

Do you reply to my customers?

No. Replies from your customers land in your inbox and stay yours to answer. I answer your questions about the email work.

What do you need to get started?
