Email marketing and Meta Ads for small business

Your shop has a list, and most of it hasn't heard from you since checkout. I'm Ali, a freelancer working on email and Meta Ads. I write and send your campaigns, build the automations your plan covers, and run Facebook and Instagram ads that bring new people onto the list. One page of numbers every 30 days.

Never sent a marketing email? Start here.

Who you're hiring_□×

Ten years of digital marketing, most of it on email. Regulated insurance and financial services, ecommerce, fundraising for charities, bookings for the leisure sector. Different rules in each one, same job underneath: get the right message to a list that already knows you. I write the copy, build what your plan covers, press send, and answer your questions myself.

Why email marketing_□×

Because you own the list. Nobody can suspend it, throttle it or put your own customers behind a higher bid. Everyone on it has already bought from you or asked to hear from you, which makes them the cheapest sale in your business. And a flow built this month is still selling in two years, whether or not there is any budget left.

Why Meta Ads_□×

Because the list has to start somewhere. Meta Ads put your products in front of people who have never heard of you, on the apps they already scroll. On their own, most of those clicks leave and never come back. Pointed at a sign-up or a first order, they become people your email can sell to for years without paying for the click again.

How much can it help my business?_□×
£36

back for every £1 spent on email. No other channel comes close, and the figure has held for a decade.

SNDR

Three jobs, every month

Campaigns written and sent in your voice. Flows built, repaired and kept alive underneath them. Then a report on day 30 saying what earned, what didn't, and what I am changing because of it. I start with the flows your shop will feel first and add more as the tier steps up, so nothing is built before it is worth building.

What that looks like

  • Flows, in build order
  • Welcome series
  • Abandoned cart
  • Post-purchase
  • Winback or replenishment
  • Then browse, cross-sell and the rest
  • Sends, planned monthly
  • New in and restocks
  • Back in stock
  • Seasonal and sale
  • Useful, non-selling
  • Last order date

I build where your list already lives

Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, Brevo and eight more, wired to Shopify or WooCommerce. You keep the login and the data. I will only tell you to move platform when the tool is genuinely capping the work, and I will show you the maths first.

Freelance rates, one month's notice

The audit costs nothing and you keep it either way. After that it is a flat monthly retainer for campaigns and flow upkeep, or a fixed price if you just want the flows built once. No set-up charge, no twelve-month contract, and you can pause through a quiet month.

Two ways to hire me

  • One-off build
  • Fixed price, agreed up front
  • Flows written and live, scope agreed first
  • Template built for a phone
  • Handed over, yours to run
  • Monthly retainer
  • Campaigns written and sent
  • Flows kept alive and improved
  • List health checked
  • One month's notice, pause anytime

Meta Ads, managed every month

Facebook and Instagram ads run in your own ad account, built to bring new customers into the shop and onto the list. Set up properly once, then adjusted every month on what the numbers say, with new creative going in as the old wears out.

What that looks like

  • Set up once
  • Ad account audit
  • Pixel and Conversions API
  • Campaigns and audiences
  • Lead ads into your email platform
  • Run every month
  • New creative and copy
  • Budgets and audiences adjusted
  • Retargeting from email segments
  • One page of numbers

Ads find them. Email keeps them.

On their own, ads pay to find a customer and then lose them, and email talks to a list that slowly shrinks. Run together by one person, the ads fill the list and the list makes the ads cheaper. That is why I do both.

How a customer moves through both

  1. The adSomeone new sees your product on Instagram or Facebook.
  2. The listA lead ad or a first order puts them on your email list.
  3. The flowsWelcome, post-purchase and campaigns bring them back to buy again.
  4. Back to the adsEmail segments tell Meta who to skip and who to win back.

Meta Ads from £250 a month

£250 a month for an ad budget up to £1,000 with 3 new ads a month, or £400 up to £2,000 with 6. Above that, on request. Ad spend is paid by you straight to Meta from your own account, so there is no markup and you always see what was spent. Run it with an email bundle and the two share one calendar and one report.

What the fee covers

  • Included
  • Audit and setup
  • Tracking and Conversions API
  • Creative and copy
  • Lead ads and retargeting
  • Not included
  • Ad spend, paid to Meta
  • New photography or video
  • Google or TikTok ads
  • Organic social posting

Ten years of this, done by one person

Insurance, financial services, ecommerce, charity, leisure. Renewal journeys signed off by compliance, donor appeals, abandoned baskets, booking reminders. Enough different lists to know which ideas travel and which ones only worked because of the logo on them. The person who audits your account writes the emails and replies when you ask why.

Platforms I build in12

Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, ActiveCampaign, GetResponse, Brevo, Shopify Email, Squarespace Email, HubSpot, Force24, Campaign Monitor and Drip. Yours is probably on that list.

Flows with a page each10

Cart, welcome, browse, post-purchase, replenishment, cross-sell, re-engagement, winback, back in stock, birthday. Built once, then kept alive.

Emails a month2-8

Written, designed, built and tested on a real phone, with your flows maintained underneath.

Channels, one plan2

Email marketing and Meta Ads. The ads find new customers, the email keeps them, and both report on the same page.

People on your account1

Me. Whoever audits it writes the emails, and answers when you ask why.

SNDR is new, so there is nothing here I cannot show you: the platforms, the flows, the pace of the work and who is doing it. Client numbers go here when there are real ones to publish.

How this actually works

Set up once, then run every month

Two parts. There is a short setup at the start, and then there is the running of it, which is where the money is. Plenty of freelancers build the flows, hand over a login and disappear. I would rather stay on the account, because email is the one channel that gets better the longer somebody keeps their eye on it.

Every month

Flow management

Keeping the automations earning

Reading the numbers on every automated email, rewriting the ones being ignored, fixing broken links and products that have gone out of stock, and testing subject lines against each other.

A flow nobody looks at quietly stops working. Your products change, your prices change, and the audience changes with them.

Every month

Campaign emails

Sends written, scheduled and reported on

The launches, sales, restocks and seasonal pushes. Written in your voice, built in your template, checked on a phone, sent to the right segment, then reported on so the next one is better.

Two a month keeps you visible. Eight is a proper calendar with a sale in it. You approve, I do the work.

Every month

On the end of an email for you

Your questions answered, no hourly clock

Ask me whether a subject line is any good, whether a discount is a bad idea, why the numbers dipped. Same person every time, usually the same working day, and it is part of the retainer rather than a separate invoice.

This is me answering you, the shop owner. Replies from your customers still land in your inbox and stay yours to answer.

At the start

Onboarding

Getting the account fit to send

Your platform connected properly, your domain authenticated so inboxes trust you, dead and mistyped addresses cleared out, and the list split into buyers, browsers and lapsed.

Happens once. Included in every retainer, £100 if you only want this.

At the start

Templates and flow builds

The pieces the monthly work runs on

A coded template in your brand, built phone-first, plus the automations your tier covers: a trigger, a sequence and the timing between them. Basket abandoned, list joined, first order placed, customer gone quiet.

Build these and they send on their own. Keep them managed and they keep pace with the shop.

Is a retainer worth it? The list you already have is the cheapest revenue in the shop, and it only pays out if somebody sends to it properly every month. That is a few hundred a month against a channel that should be earning a good chunk of your online sales, run by one person who knows the account. Meanwhile you get the hours back for the parts of the business only you can do.

Why Meta Ads

And why alongside email

Email earns the most from people who already know you. Meta Ads are how new people find you in the first place. Each one covers the gap the other leaves, which is why I run them as one plan.

Meta Ads

New customers, on purpose

Reach people who have never heard of you

Facebook and Instagram ads aimed at people who look like your best customers, with creative built from your own products and a budget you control.

Run in your own ad account. Ad spend goes straight to Meta, with no markup.

Meta Ads + email

Every click has somewhere to land

Lead ads and sign-ups feed the list

Lead ads send new subscribers straight into your email platform and the welcome series. Visitors who leave a basket get the cart flow. Fewer paid clicks are wasted.

The ad pays once. The email keeps earning from the same person for months.

Email + Meta Ads

The list makes the ads cheaper

Your segments steer the spend

Recent buyers are left out of acquisition ads. Lapsed customers see a winback ad in the same week as the winback email. Lookalikes are built from the people who actually spend.

One person on both means one calendar, matching offers and one report.

Who you get

Ten years.
Two channels.

Insurance renewals, financial services, ecommerce, charity fundraising, leisure bookings. A decade of digital marketing, and email was the part that kept paying for itself in all of them. Meta Ads are how the list gets filled in the first place, so I run both, as one plan. I audit it, write it, build it, send it and report on it, and you always know who has been in your account.

SNDR is new, so there are no borrowed logos on this page. What there is instead: prices published rather than quoted on request, work you can pull apart line by line on a call, and half rate for month one while the first few shops come on.

Writing

The questions shop owners ask before they hire anybody, written out once so I can send a link instead of retyping it. Grouped by what you sell, and by where you sell it from.
