Email marketing in Manchester

I work with Manchester shops and ecommerce brands the same way I work with everyone: remotely, monthly, inside your own email platform. This page covers what is genuinely different about a Manchester list, and what is not different at all.

Everything runs remotely, by email and the occasional video call. There is no Manchester office and I do not hold in-person meetings.

Working with a freelance email marketer in Manchester

Manchester has a deep pool of ecommerce brands and an equally deep pool of agencies selling to them. The usual shape is a strategist you meet at the pitch and an account run day to day by whoever joined most recently.

The freelance version is simpler. One person builds the flows, writes the campaigns and reads the reporting, so nothing gets lost in a handover and there is nobody to bill for internal admin. You email the person doing the work. The about page explains why that is the whole structure.

What is different about a Manchester ecommerce list

Price sensitivity is real, and so is loyalty

Manchester lists tend to respond well to genuine value framing and badly to invented urgency. Say what something costs and why, and the list rewards it.

Local pickup and events convert

Studios, markets, pop-ups and stockists are worth segmenting for by postcode area, so the rest of your list is not told about a Saturday in Ancoats.

Student cycles matter more than in most cities

Two of the largest student populations in the country arrive in late September and leave in June. If your buyers skew younger, that is a calendar to plan against, not a coincidence to notice afterwards.

January is slow for discretionary spending and good for content, restocks and reorder flows rather than discounts. Spring bank holidays and the summer run of events and festivals work well for anything worn, drunk or given.

Late September is the sharpest restart of the year, sharpened further by the student return. Black Friday now runs for a fortnight, and the real decision is whether to take part at all: plenty of independent brands do better with an honest email explaining that they are not discounting. December is governed by postage cutoffs, and the last-order-date email is usually the highest-earning send of the quarter.

None of that needs a bespoke strategy. It needs a calendar agreed in advance so nothing is written in a panic on a Tuesday afternoon.

How the monthly email work runs

The arrangement is the same wherever you are. I work inside your existing platform on a monthly basis, with one month’s notice either way and no long contract. Flows get built and improved, campaigns get written and sent, list health gets checked, and you get a short plain summary of what changed and what it earned.

It starts with a free audit. You send a shop URL, I go through the account by hand and write up what is leaking and what I would do first, in order. That takes five working days and is yours to keep. The pricing page lists what is included at each level, and the ecommerce guide shows the build order I follow.

Not sure where your account is losing money? The free audit tells you in writing, in five working days.

What the first ninety days looks like

Month one: fix and build

Deliverability and list hygiene first, then the first flows your plan covers, usually welcome and abandoned cart. Nothing new gets sent into a broken account.

Month two: rhythm

Four to eight campaigns, a template built for a phone, and a calendar agreed in advance. Further flows go in behind them if your plan includes them.

Month three: segment and refine

Enough data by now to split the list properly, add the winback, and improve individual emails on their own numbers rather than guesses.

You get a short written summary each month saying what changed, what it earned and what happens next. The services page covers the ongoing shape of it.

Manchester email marketing FAQs

Do you only work with Manchester businesses?

No. The work is remote and the list does not care where either of us sits. Manchester gets a page because the questions come up often.

Are you cheaper than a Manchester agency?

Usually, because you are paying one person to do the work rather than a team to manage it. Pricing is published rather than quoted per enquiry.

Do you work with shops as well as online stores?

Yes. A shop with a mailing list is the same job with different capture points.

What do you need to start?

Your shop URL for the audit, then access to your email platform if you go ahead.
