Getting started: the first 30 days

What happens between saying yes and the first report, week by week. What I need from you, what I do, and what stays with you.

What I need from you

_□×

Most of this takes ten minutes. None of it involves sharing a password.

  • User access to your email platform, added as a named user so you can remove me whenever you like.
  • Your domain settings, or the name of whoever manages them, so sending can be authenticated with SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
  • Collaborator access to your shop (Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace and so on) if the connection to your email tool needs fixing.
  • Your brand basics: logo, colours, fonts if you have them, and the product photos you already use.
  • Your discount rules: what you will offer, what you never will, and any dates already in the diary.
  • One person who signs off campaigns. Usually you.

The first month, week by week

_□×
  1. Week 1

    Access and a plan

Access set up, the audit turned into a plan for the month, and a sending calendar for the next two months drafted for you to check.

  2. Week 2

    Fit to send

Domain authentication, the shop connection checked, the list cleaned and segmented. Nothing new is sent until this is done, because sending into a broken account damages placement for everything after it.

  3. Week 3

    Templates and the first flows

The templates your plan includes, built and tested on a phone. Then the flows your plan covers, starting with the ones that pay back first (usually welcome and abandoned cart), each tested before it goes live.

  4. Week 4

    First sends

The first campaigns go out once you have signed them off, and the flows are switched on. From here, drafts arrive a fortnight ahead with two rounds of changes.

  5. Day 30

    The first report

One page: what went out, what it earned, flows against campaigns, and what changes next month. The reporting page shows what is in it.

You

  • Customer service and order queries
  • Paying the platform directly, in your name

The full list of what sits outside the work is on the pricing page.

After the first month

_□×

Month two onwards settles into a rhythm: campaigns drafted a fortnight ahead, the flows in your plan watched and improved, the list kept clean, and a report every 30 days. If your plan grows, new flows go in using the build order on the flows page. If it shrinks or stops, everything built stays in your account and keeps running.

Questions about getting started

_□×

How long before the first email goes out?

Usually in week four. Sooner if the account is already healthy, later if deliverability needs real repair first.

Do I need a call to start?

No. Most of it runs by email. A video call is there if you want one.

What if someone else manages my domain?

Tell me who, and I will send them the exact records to add, with a note on what each one does.

Can I start with one thing?

Yes. Single items start at £50 on the pricing page, and you can add more later.

Will you answer my customers?

No. Customer replies land in your inbox and stay yours. I answer your questions about the email work.
