Email marketing in Edinburgh

I work with Edinburgh shops and ecommerce brands remotely and monthly, inside your own email platform. This page covers what is different about an Edinburgh list, especially if many of your customers found you while visiting.

Everything runs remotely, by email and the occasional video call. There is no Edinburgh office and I do not hold in-person meetings.

Edinburgh’s independent shops sell to two groups: people who live there and people passing through. Visitors are the harder group, because they buy once, go home and forget the name of the shop. Email is how you stay in touch with them.

A freelancer on a monthly plan can build that route properly: the signup at the point of sale, the welcome series that follows it, and campaigns that bring people back to order online.

What is different about a Edinburgh ecommerce list

_□×

Three things, in practice.

Visitors are future online customers

A signup at the till, a card in the bag or a receipt email that invites people onto the list turns a holiday purchase into a relationship. A welcome series written for people who have already been in the shop does the rest.

August is different here

The festivals fill the city in August. If you trade in person, it is your busiest month. If you sell online to locals, they are busy and distracted, so hold big launches for September.

Overseas addresses need care

If your list includes buyers abroad, check your shipping promises, currency display and consent rules for the countries you sell to. The New York page covers US rules.

Burns Night, St Andrew’s Day and Hogmanay all matter for food, drink and gift brands, and Scottish bank holidays differ from England’s (2 January and the first Monday in August among them).

Christmas cut-offs for international orders come much earlier than domestic ones, so overseas customers need their own last-order email, sent weeks before the UK version.

None of that needs a bespoke strategy. It needs a calendar agreed in advance, so nothing is written in a panic.

How the monthly work runs, wherever you are

The arrangement is the same for a Edinburgh brand as for one anywhere else. Everything runs remotely, by email and the occasional video call. There is no Edinburgh office and I do not hold in-person meetings, which is part of why the price is what it is.

I work inside your existing email platform. Campaigns get written and sent, the flows your plan covers get built and looked after, list health gets checked, and you get one page of numbers every 30 days. The pricing page has the numbers, and getting started sets out the first month week by week.

What the first ninety days looks like

Month one: fix and build

Deliverability and list hygiene first, then the first flows your plan covers, usually welcome and abandoned cart. Nothing new gets sent into a broken account.

Month two: rhythm

Campaigns on an agreed calendar, drafted a fortnight ahead, in a template built for a phone. Further flows go in behind them if your plan includes them.

Month three: segment and refine

By now there is enough data to split the list properly and improve individual emails on their own numbers rather than guesses. The services page covers the ongoing shape of it.

Edinburgh email marketing FAQs

_□×

Do you meet clients in Edinburgh?

No. Everything runs remotely, by email and, when it helps, a video call. You are never waiting for a meeting to get an answer.

Can email really bring back visitors?

It brings back the ones who joined the list. That is why the signup at the point of sale matters more than anything else on this page.

Do you reply to my customers?

No. Replies from your customers land in your inbox and stay yours to answer. I answer your questions about the email work.

What do you need to get started?
